Devices for a wood burning furnace

The upper unit is for use in a system where slow burning over a long time is preferred. The idea is to put it in the lower part of a furnace where it allows embers to pile up allowing one to add some wood every now and then without restarting the fire. The lower image shows an ash removal device.
